This image features a custom building block minifigure that represents a German soldier from World War II, likely a member of the elite Waffen-SS.
The character’s uniform is printed in a distinctive camouflage pattern known as Platanenmuster (Plane Tree pattern), one of the earliest camouflage designs used by the SS. This complex pattern features layers of spots that were designed to be effective in both spring/summer (as seen here with the vibrant greens and browns) and autumn environments by reversing the garment. The detailed printing on the torso, also shown in the inset picture, includes an ammo pouch harness worn over the smock.
The soldier wears a German Stahlhelm (steel helmet) which, like the previous example, has a printed hexagonal pattern representing a wire mesh or “chicken wire” cover. This was used by soldiers to add natural foliage for camouflage. The minifigure’s face is printed with blue eyes and a stern expression.
The weapon held by the soldier is a miniature replica of a Maschinenpistole 40, better known as the MP 40. This was a famous German submachine gun used extensively throughout the war, recognizable by its side-folding stock (which is folded underneath in this model) and the magazine extending from below. The vertical line on the right side of the image indicates the figure has a height of 4cm.
