The item is a German M43 Field Cap (Einheitsfeldmütze) accessory, which is designed for minifigures. This is a custom toy accessory modeled after the WWII German field cap. It features the distinctive “Pea Dot” camouflage pattern (known in German as Erbsentarn). The pattern consists of small spots of dark green, light green, brown, and black on a brownish background. The cap is detailed with a printed Totenkopf (skull and crossbones) insignia on the front and two buttons securing the flap.

Background: The M43 Field Cap was the standard headgear for German troops later in the war. The Pea Dot (Erbsentarn) camouflage pattern was introduced in 1944 specifically for the Waffen-SS. Unlike earlier smocks that were worn over uniforms, this pattern was printed directly onto the combat uniform itself. The combination of this specific dot pattern and the skull insignia accurately represents the gear worn by elite Waffen-SS units during the late stages of World War II (1944-1945).
