Introduction
It represents various minor Axis powers and co-belligerent nations from the Second World War.
WW2 Thai Soldier (Far Left)
The first figure on the far left represents a WW2 Thai Soldier serving in the Royal Thai Army. He is dressed in an olive green uniform with tightly wrapped leg puttees. His most distinctive visual feature is the French Adrian-style helmet adorned with a golden Chakra emblem, which is an ancient symbol heavily associated with the Thai monarchy. He is armed with a bolt-action rifle featuring a fixed bayonet and stands beside the national flag of Thailand. Historically, Thailand initially declared neutrality but was forced to ally with the Japanese Empire after being invaded in 1941. They fought primarily in the Burma Campaign, utilizing a unique blend of pre-war European imported equipment and later Asian tactical influences.
WW2 Croatian Soldier (Center Left)
The second figure represents a WW2 Croatian Soldier from the Independent State of Croatia (NDH). He wears an olive green tunic paired with dark grey trousers and distinct red collar tabs, topped with a German-style Stahlhelm (steel helmet). He is equipped with standard combat webbing and a Kar98k-style bolt-action rifle. He stands proudly next to the flag of the NDH, which features the red, white, and blue horizontal tricolor, the central checkerboard coat of arms, and the Ustaše “U” symbol in the canton. Historically, the NDH was a fascist puppet state established by the Axis in 1941 after the invasion of Yugoslavia. Its troops fought fiercely alongside the German Wehrmacht in the volatile Balkan anti-partisan theater and on the frozen Eastern Front.
WW2 Hungarian Soldier (Center Right)
The third figure portrays a WW2 Hungarian Soldier of the Royal Hungarian Army. He features a prominent printed mustache and wears a full olive green uniform with red collar tabs, which historically denoted the infantry branch. He wears a domestic Hungarian M38 steel helmet and carries a standard bolt-action rifle. Beside him is the national flag of Hungary, displaying its historic red, white, and green horizontal stripes. Historically, Hungary was a major member of the Axis powers, driven to join the Tripartite Pact largely to reclaim lost territories. The Hungarian army fought extensively on the brutal Eastern Front alongside German forces, most notably suffering tragic and catastrophic losses during the Battle of Stalingrad.
WW2 Finnish Soldier (Far Right)
The fourth figure on the far right represents a WW2 Finnish Soldier of the Finnish Defence Forces. He is outfitted in a highly detailed grey M36 field uniform with a printed mustache and a grey M36 field cap bearing the blue and white national cockade. His black trousers feature a distinct red side stripe, and he is armed with a Mosin-Nagant style rifle. He is accompanied by the swallow-tailed Finnish State War Flag, featuring a blue Nordic cross and the crowned lion coat of arms in the center. Historically, Finland fought two major conflicts against the Soviet Union: the legendary Winter War and the Continuation War. During the Continuation War, they acted as a co-belligerent with the Axis specifically to reclaim their own lost territories, proving to be incredibly resilient, highly motivated, and effective winter combatants.
