The item is a PaK 36 Anti-Tank Gun model, which is a buildable accessory designed for minifigures. This is a custom, brick-built replica of the German 3.7 cm PaK 36 (Panzerabwehrkanone 36). It features a compact design with a smaller armored gun shield, a relatively thin barrel, and two wheels with rubber tires for mobility. Like the larger guns, it has split trails (legs) at the rear that spread out to anchor the weapon during firing. The grey color represents the standard “Dunkelgrau” (Dark Grey) finish used on German equipment early in the war.
Background: The PaK 36 was the standard German anti-tank gun at the beginning of World War II in 1939. While it was effective against light tanks during the campaigns in Poland and France, it struggled against the heavier armor of British Matildas and Soviet T-34s later on. Due to its inability to penetrate these newer tanks, German soldiers ironically nicknamed it the “Heeresanklopfgerät” (Army Door-Knocker), implying it could only knock on the door of enemy tanks rather than destroy them.
