This image displays a toy minifigure representing a Late-War German Infantryman from World War II, specifically outfitted in the rare Leibermuster Camouflage uniform.

The figure is depicted wearing a uniform that represents the very final stages of the war (1945).

The Uniform (Leibermuster): The defining feature of this figure is the M45 Leibermuster camouflage pattern printed on the helmet cover, tunic, trousers, and the separate M43 Field Cap accessory. This pattern is easily recognized by its irregular black “carbon” spots printed over splashes of tan, green, and brown. Unlike previous patterns which were specific to either the Army (Wehrmacht) or the Waffen-SS, Leibermuster was intended to replace all previous camouflage patterns for all branches of the German military.

The Weapon (MP40): The figure is armed with an MP40 Submachine Gun (Maschinenpistole 40). This was the standard automatic weapon for German squad leaders and paratroopers. It was prized for its compact size (thanks to the folding stock) and reliability in close-quarters combat.

Combat Gear: He wears a set of Green Canvas Magazine Pouches strapped to his chest. While MP40 pouches were typically tall and vertical, the design here looks like a stylized tactical vest or assault pouch set, intended to carry extra ammunition magazines for his weapon. He wears standard ankle boots with gaiters.

Historical Background: The Leibermuster (M45) pattern is historically significant because it was the first camouflage designed specifically to defeat Infrared Night Vision devices. The black dye used in the pattern was made with special carbon compounds that absorbed infrared light, helping soldiers hide from the early night-vision scopes being used by Allied forces in 1945. Because it was introduced so late in the war (early 1945), it saw very limited combat service, mostly on the Eastern Front (specifically in Czechoslovakia) and during the final defense of Germany. This figure represents a soldier fighting in the desperate final months of the Third Reich.
