This is a custom clothing accessory for a toy minifigure, representing the iconic Soviet Red Army “Telogreika” Padded Winter Jacket, also known as a Vatnik, from World War II.
The accessory is a single piece designed to look like the torso of the jacket, worn as a vest-like outer layer with field equipment. Its most defining characteristic is the quilted texture, represented by the vertical stitching lines printed on the khaki-colored fabric. This quilting was essential as it held the compressed cotton-wool batting inside the garment in place, which provided its excellent insulation. The Telogreika was a simple, cheap to mass-produce, and incredibly effective piece of winter clothing. It became the standard issue winter jacket for the Red Army and was a crucial factor in the Soviet soldier’s ability to survive and fight effectively through the brutal winters of the Eastern Front. Printed over the jacket are the soldier’s load-bearing equipment, including shoulder straps and ammunition pouches.
