Minifigure – German soldiers and an officer from the World War II (LEGO Compatible)

This image displays a collection of four toy minifigures representing German soldiers and an officer from the World War II era.

The figure on the top left is a classic German Army (Heer) Infantryman. He is depicted in the standard early-war M36 service tunic, identifiable by its field grey color and dark bottle-green collar. He wears a Stahlhelm (steel helmet) and is equipped with leather Y-straps and the standard ammunition pouches for his Karabiner 98k (Kar98k) rifle, which was the primary weapon for the German infantryman, or Landser, throughout the war.

The figure on the top right is a German Army Infantryman from the mid-to-late war period. While wearing the same M36 tunic and Stahlhelm, his equipment is different. He carries the specific canvas ammunition pouches designed for the Gewehr 43 (G43) semi-automatic rifle, a replica of which is shown next to him. This weapon was introduced to increase the firepower of infantry squads in response to Allied and Soviet semi-automatic rifles.

The figure on the bottom left represents a German Army Machine Gun Assistant. He wears the standard M36 tunic and Stahlhelm, but his specific role is identified by the belts of machine gun ammunition draped over his shoulders and Y-straps. This was the common way for the assistant gunner (or “Number 2”) in an MG team to carry extra ammo for the squad’s MG 34 or MG 42 machine gun, while he carried a Kar98k rifle for his own defense.

The figure on the bottom right is a highly decorated German Panzergrenadier Officer. He wears the M36 tunic with its dark green collar and an officer’s peaked visor cap (Schirmmütze). His branch of service is clearly indicated by the bright green Waffenfarbe (branch color) on his shoulder boards and collar tabs, which was the color of the Panzergrenadiers (armored infantry). He is shown as a veteran combat leader, decorated with the German Cross in Gold, the Iron Cross First Class, and the Infantry Assault Badge.
