Introduction
This image shows a group of three different custom building block minifigures, representing three of the highest-ranking and most decorated commanders of the German Navy (Kriegsmarine) from World War II.
The figure on the left is Wolfgang Lüth, a highly successful U-boat captain. He is shown wearing the uniform of a Kapitän zur See (Captain at Sea) and is distinguished by the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds around his neck.
The figure in the center is Karl Dönitz, who commanded the U-boat fleet and later the entire Kriegsmarine. He is depicted as a Großadmiral (Grand Admiral), wearing the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves and the U-boat War Badge with Diamonds.
The figure on the right is Erich Raeder, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Kriegsmarine in the Nazi era. He is also depicted as a Großadmiral (Grand Admiral), wearing the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross and a full ribbon bar of his awards. All three are wearing the formal dark blue reefer jacket of a naval officer.
